How an Evaporative Condenser Works

Coils, spray water and airflow in the heat-rejection process.

How an Evaporative Condenser Works

Heat moves through the coil

Refrigerant or another process fluid flows inside the heat-exchange tubes. Spray water wets the outside of the tubes, and airflow carries away water vapor as part of the water evaporates.

Counter-flow arrangement

In Gewabin’s counter-flow description, air travels upward while spray water moves downward over the coil.
